Wine & Food Affair in Sonoma County

From wineroad.com

The Wine & Food Affair brings together the most popular and beloved wineries of Sonoma County for two days of pure fall bliss. Alexander, Dry Creek and the Russian River Valleys are all represented as almost 100 wineries pour their house wines and serve some of their favorite nosh pairings. Then after the festival, you can go online to download each winery’s recipe and try to recreate the experience at home.

The festival runs Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6 from 11am to 4pm each day. When you purchase your tickets, you select which winery you’d like to start at. You check in at that winery on the selected date and you are given a wristband and tasting glass. You can then explore any and all of the participating Sonoma wineries at your own pace (until 4pm).

It’s important to note that wineries are limited to how many people can check-in at each time and place, so when you purchase your tickets, be prepared to have a back up starting location in mind. Tickets are available online through October 31. Tickets start at $30 for a designated driver ticket and go up to $80 for a full weekend ticket. There is also the option for Sunday-only tickets. Before you start your wine trek, go online and create a custom route to make sure you hit all the wineries on your list!

Nosh and Chat with Winemakers

In addition to the strolling tasting, the Wine & Food Affair is hosting a Winemaker Q & A Breakfast on Saturday, November 5. For an extra fee of $25, you can sit at tables with winemakers from some of the best Sonoma wineries, including Mill Creek, Pech Merle and Spicy Vines. Enjoy casual conversation and an informal Q & A, plus a delicious breakfast before to truly start the rest of the event off right. The breakfast starts at 9am at Perch Merle Winery in Geyserville.
